Van wrapping applies the same vinyl technology as car wrapping to commercial vehicles — panel vans, lutons, pickups, minibuses and box vans. The difference is purpose: where a car wrap is usually about style, a van wrap is usually about business. Every mile your van drives becomes advertising.
There are two broad approaches. A plain colour wrap changes the van's appearance and protects the paintwork, exactly like a full car colour-change wrap. Branded wrapping adds your livery on top — logo, services, phone number, website — printed or cut from vinyl and applied over the base colour. Most commercial jobs combine both.
For trades and businesses across Greater Manchester, the maths is straightforward. A van already drives thousands of miles a year through Manchester, Stockport, Bolton and beyond; wrapping it puts your name in front of all of them for a one-off cost, while the vinyl underneath keeps the paintwork — and the van's resale value — protected.
What we wrap
Panel vans
Transit, Sprinter, Vivaro, Transporter and every size in between — the bread and butter of commercial wrapping.
Lutons and box vans
Big flat sides are ideal for bold branding. Maximum visibility for delivery and removals businesses.
Pickups
Full or partial wraps for pickups, including cab coverage and branded bed sides where the bodywork allows.
Fleets
Multiple vehicles wrapped to a single consistent livery, phased around your working schedule to limit downtime.
Branding, signwriting and liveries
Good van branding is readable at 40mph. That means big lettering, a clear phone number, and no more information than a driver can absorb in three seconds. We apply graphics as cut vinyl — individual letters and logos in solid colours — or as digitally printed film for photographic images and gradients, laminated for durability.
The base colour matters as much as the graphics. White vans take almost any livery; darker base colours need bolder, higher contrast graphics to stay legible. If your van's current colour fights your branding, a full colour wrap underneath the graphics solves it in one job — and protects the paint at the same time.
Reflective and chapter-8 style markings for night visibility are a separate specialism from standard livery work — if you need high-visibility compliance markings, say so when you call and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
How a van wrap is done
Measure-up and quote
We see the van, discuss plain wrap versus branded livery, agree the design direction and confirm a free, no-obligation quote.
Design and proofing
Branding layouts are drawn to the van's exact panel dimensions and sent to you for approval before any vinyl is cut.
Prep and installation
The van is washed and decontaminated, then wrapped panel by panel with graphics aligned across doors and shuts.
Detailing and handover
Handles, trims and plates refitted, edges sealed, and the whole livery checked from every angle before you drive away.
Why Manchester vans get wrapped
Greater Manchester is built for van advertising. The M60 orbital carries enormous daily traffic past your livery, and vans working the corridors into Wigan, Rochdale and Oldham spend half their lives in slow traffic — exactly where a bold livery gets read. Add the building sites, industrial estates and retail parks dotted around the conurbation and your van is parked in front of potential customers all day.
There is a protective argument too. Vans live harder lives than cars: site entrances, loading bays, tight yards and year-round motorway miles. Vinyl takes the stone chips and scuffs that would otherwise go straight into the paint — and when the van is sold or returned off lease, the paint underneath is in far better shape.
If the van is leased, check the agreement before booking — our guide to wrapping a leased vehicle explains what funders usually ask for. And if an old livery needs to come off first, our professional wrap removal clears it cleanly before the new branding goes on.

Can you wrap my van with my company branding?
Yes — that's the core of what commercial wrapping is for. We can apply your logo, phone number, services and colours as printed or cut vinyl graphics over a plain colour wrap, or design a full livery that turns the whole van into a moving advert. Send us your logo and we'll talk through the layout options.
How long does it take to wrap a van?
A full van wrap typically takes four to six working days because of the sheer panel area — a Transit or Sprinter has far more surface than a car. Partial wraps and simple signwriting can be much quicker, sometimes within a day or two. We'll give you a firm timescale with your free quote so you can plan around the downtime.
Will wrapping damage my van's paintwork?
No — professional wrapping protects it. The vinyl shields the paint from stone chips, scratches and UV fade while it's on, which is genuinely useful for vans that live on motorways and building sites. Removal by a professional leaves the paint underneath intact, which also helps resale or lease return condition.
Can you wrap a leased van?
Usually yes, and wrapping is actually one of the safer modifications for a lease because it's fully reversible. That said, always check your lease agreement first — some funders want written permission for any livery. Our guide to wrapping a leased or financed vehicle explains what to confirm before booking.
What's the difference between a full van wrap and a half wrap?
A full wrap covers every panel in vinyl, giving a complete colour change plus room for large branding. A half wrap covers roughly the lower or upper half, blending vinyl with the van's original paint — cheaper, quicker, and still plenty of space for logos and contact details. Quarter wraps and simple rear-door graphics are even lighter options.
How do you handle windows, handles and locks on a van wrap?
Windows are never covered with solid vinyl — we cut precisely around glass, and can use perforated window film on rear windows if you want graphics there while keeping visibility. Handles, locks, lights and number plates are worked around or temporarily removed and refitted, so everything still functions exactly as before.
Does signwriting vinyl last as long as a full wrap?
Cut-vinyl lettering and logos are made from the same quality films as full wraps and last similarly — typically five to seven years with normal care. Because graphics sit on top of paint or wrap film, individual letters can be replaced cheaply if one gets damaged, which fleets find very practical.
Can you wrap a whole fleet of vans?
Yes. Fleet work is about consistency — every van in the same colours, same logo placement, same finish — and we plan fleet jobs to minimise how many vehicles are off the road at once. Talk to us about your fleet size and schedule and we'll work out a phased plan around your working week.
How do I clean a wrapped van?
The same way as a wrapped car, just on a bigger scale: hand wash or careful jet wash with pH-neutral shampoo, no abrasive brushes, and keep the lance at a sensible distance from edges and seams. Avoid harsh traffic-film removers on the graphics. Our guide to caring for a wrapped vehicle covers the routine in full.
